How do i sell a car that has no title?

Question:
my neibor just gave me a truck and it is not good for anything exept parts or scrap but she lost the title. so technicly the truck is mine, but not in my name(or anyones at the moment)

first if you want to get a title send a certified letter to the last owner stating that they owe u storage fee(be sure to say how much) and that they have 30 days to come get the car, then once u get the thing back that they picked up the letter wait 30 days and go to the dmv and file a machinics lean and they will send you a lean title, now you can sell the car with no problems , or just sell it for junk

If your neighbor is willing to they can apply for a lost title thru the License Bureau, if not than you can also sell it by using a " Bill of Sale" form but the vehicle will not be able to be titled.

You can get a salvage title through the BMV. They check the serial numbers to be sure it's not stolen and that it's not currently titled to another person. Sorry..I don't remember the cost.
