I purchased a car online, or so i thought, and it turned out to be a scam! Is there any website out there where i can do i reverse lookup on a fax number. Like if i put in the fax number it will give me the adress?...PLEASE HELP, I LOST $2,900.

you should contact the police on an issue like this. your not going to find a reverse fax # website, ect. the cops have ways of finding this stuff out. i dont recommend ratting on a regular basis but losing 2900 bucks is a huge deal.Which is a better buy, the 2007 Honda CRv or the 2007 Mitsubishi Outlander?

Shouldn't matter that it's a fax number. It's probably unlisted though...in which case it will cost you some $$ to obtain it.
Were the fraudsters in your own state? If they're out of state, it will be harder to get them. Did any part of your transaction take place via regular (Post Office) mail? If so, mail fraud is the best way to nab them.(Contact your local postmaster).

Online car sales scams work with free fax-to-email systems, which means there is no physical fax machine at a specific address. I have one for personal use, the area code is out in Seattle Washington even though I live in Illinois. There's no way to get information about who was getting those faxes without determining which fax company routed the info, and giving them a court order to request information about the recipient.

You need to work with your local police and the FBI on this -- they are the only ones with the resources to help you find out more about the scammers.
