Need ideas Re. classified ad sale?

Question:
Had a buyer interested in buying an item I listed on yahoo classifieds. However about 3-4 weeks gone by after they said they will send money order for the cost of item plus shipping. I e-mailed back and told the buyer the sale price +shipping. Today I recieved a cashiers check for way more than I was asking for the item, like $1800.00 more than the selling price,with instruction to cash check and deduct my selling price and refund the difference which would be roughly $1700.00. This looks like scam(fraud to me) what are your thoghts?
