My parents get a new car every two years, and it's time for my mom. Now that I'm old enough, my dad is making me do the looking. So far, he's approved two cars: the lexus gx470 and the mercedes cl600. I know the cl600 is better, but my mom isn't sure if she wants a coupe or an SUV.

I'd say she should drive both. The GX470 is HUGE, even for an SUV. I have an RX, and it's a great size. The 2 vehicles seem so far apart, I'd say she has to test drive both, and see what she thinks. Most moms I know with this choice will choose the Mercedes, mainly because it's a little zoomier and it's a heck of a lot easier to park.
