With Jeeps reputation for a go anywhere type of vehicle, people tend to abuse them and not care for them properly. Personally I would never own a Jeep (worked for a C-P-D-J-E dealer for 2 years). But you may get lucky and find one that a little old lady only drove to church on sundays, and never got off the pavement. Seriously, If the seller won't let you have a mechanic inspect the vehicle be very, very cautious.
