Considering your inputs, i would like to suggest some cars.I have an alto lxi and Maruti 800. Both are good cars.
If your price tag is upto 3.5lacs, then go for Alto. Very reliable, got good looks, good power, gr8 efficiency in its class. Also cheap to maintain and cheap spare parts. Its worth buying.
If you want a diesel car. then Indica Turbo is good option. i am planning to buy in next month.
Got oodles of power, torquey, good looks. May people say it got taxi looks, but depends on individuals taste. Afterall i am not listening to guys who say it got taxi looks. Get alloy wheels and tubeless radials and see whether it looks like taxi.

MARUTI ALTOToyota is always a good choice. They have some of the most reliable cars in the world.
I would advise against buying a new car though. They lose thousands opf dollars of value on the first day you own it, it is not funny.

Say that you are unsure about the interior or the wheels or the paint color. As long as the dealer thinks you are willing to walk away, you are still in control.
