After owning a jaguar and having a slight accident in it! Lets just say it was never the same. Leased the car from new and to be honest i would not get one again! After having this problem and then everything went wrong with it, I'd advise getting something a little less hungry on juice, or a new one and dont have an accident because! In the 3 years i had the car it was at the garage more than it was with me. Best of luck, know its not what u want to hear but 'im the voice of reasoning' lol even when i have none myself latley -
If your wanting a car. After also owning a Audi A4 cab. 3.0 ltr, I would highly recommend this vehicle.. Its lightening fast, comfortable, Great on fuel, well as long as ur not going round town all day long! Looks fab and if ur wanting a more powerful version, go for the S4. u will not be disappointed.. They are a great car!

i drove for jag dealer and would not recomend v12 unless you have silly amounts of money to spend on running cost/repairs,12 spark plugs etc, petrol about 10 mpg if your lucky, also v12 cabs are heavy and not too quick off the mark, beautiful at 90mph cruising, dont drive xjs at over 120 mph as its freaky,
4 litre is better engine
all xjs have terrible turning circles,
why not buy xk8? so much better

Don't bother - they are rust buckets and are appalling on fuel consumption - especially if they are second hand and not been serviced regularly!Trading in a new car for a used one. My truck is worth 22k and i owe 16k.?

If buying second hand - do whatever it takes to find out if it has been in an accident - they are known to be like second hand Coke tins and once crash damaged are never the same again.

The XJS is definately headed for 'classic-ness', so if you buy a really good one now for £5k, its value will probably rise over the next few years. I remember before the classic car boom in the 80's, you could get a rusty but MoT'd & running E-type for a few hundred quid, look at them now! Check for rust, electrical silliness, oil & water leaks, especially on V12, worn suspension (they're heavy cars) & check the bumpers, 'cos they're well over £1k each to replace.Personally, I'd have a 4 litre, as they're just as quick & don't have the thirst. 10mpg from a V12 is actually pretty good, by the way!
