Question:
I'm looking at buying a used car and I want to know if any of you have advice on the best car for under 10K. Looks aren't very important, but obviously gas mileage is.
Answers:
If size is not important for you I would recomend a Volkswagon Jetta Diesel.
They made alot of models of this car, try to find one that is around 1980-1995. There are AWD models as well as 2WD models so shop around a bit.
Diesel is really important as its much cheaper than gas and the engines are engineered to last alot longer than gas.
My grandfather bought his for $2000 canadain dollars. (1987 model) He works construction and drives it all around the lots he works on, He has owned it for 6 years now, 225 000 kilometers and hasent had a single problem.
Hope this helps :)
I am looking to buy a used car, something no too expensive,is 100,000miles on a car bad?
www.craigslist.org Audi Subaru Mitsubishipick your self up a good used subaru, that has been mainted
atleast a little bit. Don't by a crap box, then take care of it and enjoy the ride. I feel that most of those cars are pretty well built and i've outdrove 4wheeldrive trucks, uphill, in the snow in an old subaru wagon. They all needed chains Ha Ha Ha.
And they get good gas mileage
What's faster the 2006 Nissan Altima SE 5 speed manual or Toyota Celica GT-S 6 speed manual?
I think Japanese cars are the best. You can find many here http://www.batfa.comHope this may help.
What is a good car to buy? thay will last a while?
I'd go for a Subaru, the Legacy/Liberty/Outback models are good, take the best one you can find. 1998-2002 They tend to be a bit dodgy after 100,000 miles. The auto transmissions have been known to fail expensively. Less important is that the park position may not work properly and the car may roll if the brake is not set. Recalls on this, charcoal canister, cruise control cable and seatbelt pre-tensioners.Models built after 2002 have been improved. Recall on park position as above, brake fluid leak at rear, fuel leak when full at fuel pump, faulty rear door latches. These only affect some VINs.
