Ok, so I'm looking at buying a 2001 Infiniti I30. Here's the deal?

Question:
It has 115k miles, not too terribly bad for an Infiniti. It's priced at $7800, very cheap for this car. The problem is, the car needs $800 worth of work, a new catallytic (sp?) converter and air intake something or another. Not a problem. HOWEVER!! The dealer is asking me to split the cost of the repair with them. I told them no way and walked away from the deal. Have you ever heard of a dealer asking you to split the cost of the repair BEFORE you even purchase the car??

Answers:

When buying a car, how do u know when our getting a good deal?

Very expensive anyway, you did good. Never heard about splitting the cost of a repair from a dealer, they usually sell the car as is.
