Where can I sell my car for parts? Whats a good way to go about it?

Question:
I have a Ford Taurus 1989. It still runs (I still drive it) and it has 163,xxx miles on it. It has outside blemishes (not eye sore blemishes) but it is still old. I would like to sell this car for parts, or at least to someone who needs a bucket to get around. I live in Washington DC, what would be a good way to get my car sold for parts? or Sold period? Anyone know of any good places.

Is there any chance Chevrolet or anybody cares to buy a car made 20 years ago (87) and with 500,000 kms?

Thanks

Price of Skoda Octavia Elegance1.9 TDI/66kW (Diesel)?

Ebay is probably the quickest. You could advertise in Hemmings Motor News. You can put up flyers at local Auto zones; O'Reilly's or other parts stores. My husband has gone great distances (esp. looking on ebay) for cars for parts. Any local car shows coming up in your area? Advertise there too.
P.S. If no one "bites" about the car, take the time with a few buddies and break it down by the most salvagable parts. Sometimes people will need one or 2 parts but don't want to mess with the car itself. The wreckage yards will not give you anywhere near what you can get by yourself or by separating them. They'll only usually throw $50-$75 at ya

Is the interest rate on a car loan for a BMW $9.00 a month if it is 9%?

Take it to a local salvage or wrecking yard. They will buy it for parts.

Try ebay.com

Buying a new vehicle: to get a good low price, ..........?

You could put a ad in the paper to sell it or try your local car salvage yard. Also another idea would be to go to a scrap metal place. They give you money based on the weight of the vehicle. But if it is still running I would try the paper or local salvage yard first, you may get more money from them. Good Luck

Does Anyone In The Baltimore , MD Area Have a Functioning Car That They Would Like To Donate??

W have a local place called "u wrench it." Try googling or the yellow pages for a place like that. In yellow pages, look under "automotive" and scan for an ad. You sell them the car and what they do is charge people by weight for the parts that they take off cars for themselves. It's a neat thing for everyone.

How can I find out what dealership sold my car?

In case you look around and find there's not much offered for you (I got $800 for my "fair" condition Malibu 98 that was *not* even "fair" condition so I was pleased), consider donating it to the Salvation Army or some other places. Look for whoever will come get it for you and get the receipt -- you can claim that donation on your taxes and get your money on the "back end" rather than up front.

Where in Portland, OR can I find the best deal on new Corolla?

Try Autotrader.com or your local salvage yard.

Do you know about mazda cars?

Since your car still runs it has far more value as a whole than the sum of its parts. So, if you want/need to get money for it then put an ad in the washington post or even papers closers to you and try to sell it. Or, if you donate it to a charity then they will have an honest mechanic look it over and they might be able to get some use out of it and you will get the tax deduction and the good feeling. BTW, if you take it to a metal scrap dealer although they will pay by weight the amount they pay will be so small that I would guess they would give you under $50. The scrap dealer is going to crush/cut it in smaller pieces it to be melted down for new metal. If you took it to a car junk yard (where they will sell it for parts even though it still runs) they wil not give you more than $50 either. So, I would forget about the junk yard(selling it for parts) or the scrap dealer.
