A Toyota or Honda that has had regular oil changes and has been cared for PROPERLY will be the same at 250,000 as a GM or Ford at 125,000.

Are there problems in sending cashiers check to pay off lien on used car I want to buy from owner?

I have had Toyotas that have gone (Corolla) 391,000; (Camry) 278,000; Corolla (555,000) without a major malfunction. But these cars were carefully cared for! You must change the oil on schedule. You must follow the maint schedule. Most important, if you live in a cold climate DO NOT exceed 2,000 rpm while the engine is ice cold. Warm it up carefully.

can anyone help me get rid of my vehicle?

A good Toyota that has been well-cared for is an excellent buy at 200,000 miles. The really neat thing is this --- If you make a bad choice, you are not out that much money.

But even if you have to buy Ford, GM, or Chrysler, be aware that these cars are not like 10 or 15 years ago. They are being built for longer life WITH PROPER MAINT. A Chevy at 200,000 is not nearly as rare as it used to be.

The most important thing is to get the car inspected by a mechanic before you buy it. It will only cost about $50, and it could save you a lot more on repairs down the road.

I need to lease a car for my new job next to london. where do i start ?

I have bought high mileage vehicles, but only if they have been properly maintained. If someone can show you receipts for all maintenance work, and the mechanic says it's in good shape, I would have no problem buying the right car with 150k on it. Stay away from cars that have had 3+ owners, as one of them likely has not serviced it properly.

Buying a car---questions?

Before you buy:
1. have it checked out by a mechanic that you choose.
2. know that it will require more monthly maintenance than a newer car.

Ok, the thing with getting a used car with over 100,000 miles is that the engine has 100,000 miles on it, and so does the body. Know im not saying you cant, it depends on the car. I would buy a truck with over 100,000 miles, but a car would be a tough choice, unless its in good shape, body wise. Steps to buy a car from a private seller in Illinois?

i own a repair shop, and if your buying a car with high mileage ,common sense has to kick in,because most of the time they cant tell you a whole lot about them,so on this you have to ask all kinds of questions, transmission, and if it uses oil or not,and drive it,test driving one will tell more about it than anything else will ,also look it over really good, because once you buy it,its yours ,there's no turning back, just be care full when buying, and try and get the best deal you can on it,because you know on a used one your going to have to do some work on it,good luck,i hope this help,s.
