My husband and I are tryin to buy a Nissan truck. We dont have good credit, and they are the only dealership around that seems to be willing to finance us.
Well ive been on the nissan website looking at prices. We are looking at Base models. The frontier M.S.R.P. Is around 16,200.00
But my local salesman told me over the phone that they start at 20,000.00
I dont want to get screwed over. I refuse to be screwed over. So Im trying to research and be smart about this purchase.
We are already going to have a very high intrest rate, which is going to make the note sky high. We are also putting down a large amount of money, so I need to make sure I get the best price I can.
Why are the M.S.R.P and dealer quote so much different?
Any advice about making this deal would be great!

On Nissan's site, you're looking at a Frontier that is basically a work truck. It's not going to have A/C, a radio, power windows/door locks - etc...

Also, the MSRP is usually just for the base model which usually doesn't include anything but a tape deck. If this truck has immenities like AC, cruise, CD player and things like that, it all gets calculated into the price that the dealer sells it for.
the m.s.r.p. is the manufacturing suggested retail price. this is asuggested price not a price set in stone. also with bad credit the interest rate at which any dealership will give you is going to be a little higher than someone with good credit. i would suggest that you try to get someone who you know and knows about vechiles try to negotiate a better price for you because your credit is limiting you to what you can do youself
