How much can I sell a crappy 1997 Honda Civic For? (-the crappy)?

The dealer is located in different state and I have to pay the shipping/tax/dmv fee myself. That adds another 3 grand’s.

You would still have to pay those fees even if the dealer was located in your state. There's no difference in your state (or shipping) fees whether you buy at home or in another state. All the dealer is telling you is that *you* will have to go to your state's Motor Vehicle Department and do it all yourself.
