Honda's are also good cars. Nissan... so-so, not as good as Toyota or Honda though.

get a used honda or toyota. or get like a used VW. you can get a used Jetta fairly cheap and they last awhile. if you want to stay american, look at getting a ford contour.Infiniti G35 Coupe or wait for the 2008 Infiniti G37?
Go Honda... they are very inexpensive to fix. My boyfriend has a 1989 Honda that still runs like new. I have had to borrow it so many times when my newer car broke down. It runs just like a new car... they get awesome gas mileage...and it literally has hundreds of thousands of miles on it... over 300,000 I think or very close to it... the most he has put into it at one time is around $200.00 keep in mind he has had it about 10 years.What is the best vehicle for a 16 year old??
I disagree about the VW recommendation. They are problematic and expensive to fix.I bought a 1996 geo prizm on ebay for $1400 3 years ago as a daily driver. Ive seen added 75,000 miles and have replaced the battery and starter... I highly recommend these cars... both my father and brothers girlfriend/wife have also purchased these cars. My fathers has 225,000 miles on it, my brothers girlfriend/wifes has 250,000 mine has 190,000.
Im a very hard driver and this geo has taken a beating and just wont die.
My last daily driver was a 1993 honda accord... i think it died with 215,000 miles...
You cant talk about reliability without talking about toyota. They own reliability, and have for 30 years.
