That's all you get free. Got a good mechanic? Before you commit to the car, let him check it, it might cost a little, but save a lot in the long run. All car fax looks at is paper work type things anyway. Things like "Was it used commercially?"

Please beware of carfax. They claim to only show info on vehicle accidents that are "reported". However, I ran the VINs of two vehicles which I know were in car accidents and were reported to police. The reports came back clean. This is because carfax doesn't get reports from nearly half the states in the country. This is in their fineprint BS. So you stand a pretty good chance of not getting the info you need and makes their service about half useless in my book. You're better off checking with your local DMV.More Questions & Answers ...
