Hybrids are better for the environment because they use both Gasoline and Electricity to run. They are much better for the environment when used for city drivng because they typically are using the Electric Engine at speeds under 25 mph. So when you are sitting at a stoplight in your hybrid, you are not emitting any harmful gases. Keep in mind, however, that if you are using the A/C, you are not saving fuel because the A/C needs the gasoline engine to be functioning in order for it to work.

How can i get a good deal on a car?

If your driving consists of mostly highway time, then a Hybrid is not really the way to go. Granted you are being 'Green", but at 65 MPH, you are just like any other vehicle on the road. Also, the added cost of a Hybrid (usually arounf $6K to $9K more than the standard model) does not typically offset the fuel savings that you would obtain. You would actually have to drive about 8 years to save enough in fuel costs to justify the higher price tag.
