Car buyers...what would you do?

Question:
We recently bought a vehicle and the finance person said the life and gap insurance was mandatory. I asked him 3x (and complained about it in his office) and he said it was not optional.

68 Olds Toronado worth?

We just found out from the loan company that it was optional. We called the finance guy back and he said, "Oh, well our contact said it would be good to get and I just do what they say" and "I didn't think it would be a big deal but we can cancel it"

Is a mustang a good first time car?

He's gonna have the papers ready tomorrow for us to cancel it. What should we do? Should we tell his boss? He flat out lied to us. I know car salesmen play games with numbers and all but this was over the top for me.

The value of a vauxall zafira 2002?

The finance guy violated the law when he made the purchase of gap insurance or credit life insurance a condition of approval of the loan. Complain to him and to the owner of the dealership if you can. If you cannot find the owner, complain ot the General Manager. Make it clear that your trust has been damaged and that you will tell all your friends and family that their store is not a safe place to do business. If it is a franchised new car dealership, also complain to the manufacturer. Dealers live and die by CSI (customer Satisfaction Index) nowadays to earn factory bonuses, etc. so be sure to let the manager know you will complain to the factory.

Used car reviews:: good gas mileage, reliable, cheap parts?

Assuming credit approval isn't a problem, another alternative is to walk in with a credit approval and drafting instructions from your credit union. That will hit them in the pocketbook and will REALLY get their attention!

Sale by owner - test drives?

Sure. Complain. It may be OK with the boss that he lied, but you should emphasize that that experience left a bitter taste in your mouth, and that you have lost any trust you had in that dealer. Tell them you won't be shopping there again, and you will be telling your family, friends and co-workers about the deception from that dealer.

Keep or sell my car?

I doubt that any disciplinary action will be taken against the finance person, but the dealership needs to know that deceptions like this have a cost. In this case, that cost will be future sales that will potentially be lost.

Selling my car, need help?

Good luck.

Do I have to pay a seles tax on a car I bought from a private seller?

Go ahead and complain again to him and maybe his boss also, you will at least have that satisfaction and if your lucky maybe they'll actually feel bad and throw something in for an apology. Worst case, they will do nothing. good luck.

I would like to purchased a used jeep wrangler no older than 1999 with real glass side windows.?

Life ins is a good idea to cancel, if you put little money down, gap may be good to keep, depending on how much it was. I think gap is regulated by state though, so it shouldn't have been too much.

How come I can get a loan to buy a house for over ($200k)but I cant get a loan to buy a used car under $5000?

Complaining to the manager won't do any good. They want the finance guys to sell whatever, however.
