Question:
I am going to be moving to Costa Rica so I am looking for a small sized (older) car. Preferably 4 door, great gas mileage, cheap, and DURABILITY is key.
I own a 4 door chevy truck 4x4 2500 now, which would be completely useless in a Latin American country b/c most of the towns were built for horses (not 350. ie. as in horse power). Plus gasoline is mucho mas costoso en mexico.
So... with that said, this is not a car for primary purposes to use in the states. I need a car that is ultra cheap, that I can strap a bike and a surf board to, and not worry about salt water, ruts in the road, dirt roads, mud, sand, etc. A car that I will not have to keep clean, but one that will preform for the most part. And if a problem does occur, one that is easy to remedy. Simply said, a car that takes a licking and keeps on ticking.
Oh, and a standard transmision is also of great importance.
If you have the answer please include year and model.
Thanks...

What do you think - ford mustang slick or sucks?
I would say a mid-90s Toyota Corolla or Honda Civic. They're dependable small cars, few problems, not to mention great mileage. You should be able to find older ones all over cause they stick around! My husband was just in a car accident and lost our 95 Corolla w/ nearly 200,000 miles on it. I have known a few people to have the same great results with these cars, older and newer. Any year in these models should be fine, but I wouldn't go too old, well, just because any car would be reaching it's limit, I'd think. If you must go with something else, an older Nissan Sentra or Maxima should do you fine.More Questions & Answers ...
