It depends on the model for the BMW+Mercedes.The benz's that will last long are the e-class and c-class.
BMW's only good model is the 3 series.
But yes, Acuras and Lexus generally last forever since acura is a honda and a lexus is a toyota but they cost a fortune to service.

yeah I actually was reading in consumer reports magazine and was surprised to read that BMWs and Mercedes did not rate very well as far as reliability. You'll do fine whether you choose acura or lexus..but I'd go with the lexus in my opinion.

check your yellow pages and see how many do Beemers vs mercedes... more mechanics are willing to work on mercedes...

Unfortunately it is true what they say about BMW and Mercedes. They make beautiful cars but they are not as reliable as the Acura and the Lexus. Acura is made by Honda, which is the best company EVER. Lexus is by Toyota, which is equally great. I'm not sure about the resale value being low on Mercedes or BMW because as far as I know they both hold their value really well. If you have the money to pay for the repairs then you shouldn't worry, but if not don't waste your time on a car that will be in the shop too often.More Questions & Answers ...
