Why not buy a vauxhall vx220 as road tested by top gear there exact words were it's the car the Elise should have been better engine more reliable same body just look out for cracking around the front and rear clam shells i:e body work because these are both fibreglass and suffer really badly from stone chip damage if you can find one get one with the protective coating on you can see this it looks like sticky back plastic on the main areas of the car looks a bit poo but is cheaper than bodywork repair hope this helps mister mechanic
