Dealing with the new car dealership?
Why foreign?Crossover SUV...Who came up with that stupidass saying?
Japanese are extremeley reliable, especially Toyota. They are also economic with a good gas ratio and the cars are affordable comparing the similar car makes on the market.
Isn't $48,000 for retail for a '07 Ford Cobra GT 500 far too much.?
There are loads of Japanese and European manufacturers out there.Where Can I Buy A Car Like the One in Back To The Future in NJ?
I personally drive a Honda (S2000) and have had no problems with it. My last car was a Honda, too, and that never went wrong.
Luckily I have not been in a crash, so can't say how solid the vehicles are.
How can I get the valuation for my car.?
There's a crash test called NCAP which details which cars are safer in impacts, but I think this might only be European.
I just bought an old used car and I am having problems...?
In the USA I think the test is known as NHTSA but I might be wrong.
Toyota, Nissan, Honda, Mitsubishi
Is a seller responsible for a vehicle after it is sold?
Okay, buy a Ford Fusion or Mercury Milan, built in Mexico.Or a PT Cruiser, built by a German company in Mexico.
Should I buy a 1987 Toyota Tercel Hatchback?
Or would you rather buy a Toyota Camry, designed in the US & built in Kentucky? It has the highest domestic content of any auto built in America (Only Ford & GM Trucks are higher)
Was this a good deal for this car?
Well, there are about 2000 non american car manfuacturers out there. Many of these cars cannot be imported or legally titled in the US, because they do not comply with our safety standards. There are foreign companies that make cars in the us:
Mercedes, Toyota, Honda
And there are foregin companies that use american engines:
Noble, AC, Lotus
And there are american companies that use foreign engines:
Ford, GM, Chrysler
And your going to find american companies that dont manufacture anything in america:
Ford and Chrysler being the most notable.
Then your going to find foreign companies that dont manufacture any of their cars in their home country.
VW beetle/jetta/golf (all made in latin america).
Bmw has 80% of its manufacturers located outside of germany.
Mercedes currently has 50% (dont quote that number, but that is the last time i remember it) outside of germany as well.
How are hybrid cars that are a few years old holding up? What are used ones selling for now?
Personally, you want to stay away from companies that have cheap labor, because thats exactly what kind of car youre going to get.
VW has destoryed its history of building reliable cars.
Mercedes has destroyed its history of building reliable cars.
Volvo has destoryed its history of building reliable cars.
of course, there are exceptions to this.
Kia/Daewoo. 3 years ago i would have never recommended their cars, but today, they have the BEST warranty available in america. 10yr/100,000 mile.
Suzuki is a japanese company that i would have said stay away from, but they now offer the second best warranty: 7yr/100,000 mile.
People think that a more expensive car will have better quality, and in some cases this is true, but when you have mid-luxury brands, this isnt the case.
Mercedes and bmws are mid luxury brands, with the average car selling price in the $50-60,000, but arent very reliable cars.
Rolls Royce on the other hand (owned by bmw) makes wonderful cars with out a doubt the best customer service in the world. (I read an article awhile back where a guy was driving his classic rolls (dont remember model) across the sahara desert, and broke an axel. He called RR and they loaded up a mechanic crew and spare axle on a helicopter and flew out to the guy. THey replaced the axle free of charge...)
Does any have a car they can give me?
But im sure none of this info is what youre looking for, so, toyota and honda have the best reliability in the US.
kia has the best warranty
suzuki has the second best warranty.
Stay away from VWs, mercedes, volvo, saab, jaguar, most mazdas.
Nissan quality is a hit and miss.. Sometimes they make great cars, other time, they make crap.
Subarus are nice, but expensive to maintain.
For those sold in the US-
Toyota, Scion, Lexus
Honda, Acura
Nissan, Infiniti
Kia, Hyundai
VW, Audi, Porsche
Jaguar, Land Rover(owned by Ford, but are british companies)
BMW
Mercedes-Benz(this could include Dodge, Chrysler, and Jeep)
