Is there a way to buy a car to immediately sell or trade-in and not pay sales tax.?

I heard there is a way to sign the title (or not sign it) that would allow you to turn around and resell a vehicle without paying sales tax.

Trading in my car: current title is co-owned?

You are automatically charged sales tax whenever you purchase a vehicle, it is not up to the dealership to do it, the state does it upon registration. You can turn around and sell the car the same day, but you would still be liable for the tax as it is part of the purchase price when its all said and done. Wholesaler's or dealers are the only ones that can purchase a car without paying sales tax, and that is on a scaled basis.Unless you are tax exempt, that is the only way to get out of the state sticking it to you somehow.

Sounds like BS to me. Only another dealer (i.e. someone w/ dealer license) can buy a car w/o sales tax. And they pay a different sort of tax every year.
