The answer to your question isn't an easy one. It all depends on how well the car was taken care of. I would buy a used car with that many miles, if there was proof of oil changes, trans oil, differential oil, radiator fushes. A car that had all of the suggested maintainence is not a bad buy. Please help me with this question?
You know it really depends Pat. I think many people off the top of their head would say anything over 100-thousand miles is high. However, some vehicles have registered several hundred thousand miles. A lot of it depends on how you take care of the vehicle.I need advise on what to look for when purchasing a vehicle. Is 5K a good price for a 2004 Ford Freestar with 70,000 Miles.?
If you are looking at buying a pre-owned car you obviously are going to look for the lower mileage vehicle. Yes 50,000 sounds better than 100,000 thousand but if the person took care of the car it shouldn't be that big of a problem.
Is the chevy cobalt go for a teenage driver?
But there are certain questions to ask like "We're these mostly highway miles or city miles?" It really does matter. If it is city driving there is a lot of starting and stopping and that is harder on a automobile.
I am wanting to become a car sales man, what do I need to do?
I do believe that 100-thousand isn't as bad sounding as it used to be. Again if the previous owner took care of the car (changing the oil, getting a tune-up, rotating the tires, etc. etc.) than 106,000 miles is not that bad.
Good luck!
I am buying an 03 Dodge Stratus - has anyone owned one and how did you like it?
p.s. - as with any major purchase ask a lot of questions about the vehicle. Was it garage kept? We're oil changes performed on it as recommended? We're most of the miles local or highway traveling. etc. etc.
