It is dificult to predict the price of a vehicle that hasn't even gone into production yet!
My best 'guess' is to take a look at the pricing of it's nearest competitor, the Ford Mustang.
'07 Mustangs start @ $19,995
Given the historic competitive nature of these 2 American Icons, that's an educated guess.
2 model years from now (2009) ?...
Unpredictable, but my guess is $20,000-$25,000 for the base V6.

What is with car salesmen?

It is supposed to come with the 3.9 V6, and probably have around 250 hp or so. It is my understanding that it will be priced to compete with the Mustang. So say a starting price of around $20000. Initially demand will be high, so expect to pay "market adjustments" or a few grand, and of course the first ones will be loaded up versions that will be about $27000+.
