While some of the above is subjective, you would be wise to look at the depreciation and reliability issues. If you have $25000 - $30000 or so to spend, look at a Pathfinder or a 4 Runner. They are a lot more reliable, newer designs and hold their values much better. You will have to give up a few creature comforts, but most people can live without cheap leather that cracks and seat warmers that are only of use 2+ months out of the year.
