Market adjustment rate-new car?

We were looking at a 2007 Honda CR-V, and the dealer added a market adjustment cost of $695 to the suggested MSRP on the window sticker. Is this a gimmick, or something that happens all of the time? Thanks!

I would visit another Honda dealer that does not charge dealer markups. The dealer in question is merely trying to make $700 profit.

For some high demand models, the dealer reserves the right to charge a "market adjustment" because they may have had to pay 10% markup to another dealer to get the car in stock. You can wait a few months for the demand to die down or you ignore the $695 and stick to standard negotiating techniques.

Buy a Mercury Mariner instead. Much nicer vehicle, better deals & no BS fake markups.

Ignore it. Make an offer of $100 over invoice and if they don't accept , leave. the "market ajustment gouging" will magically dissapear.
