It is a fair price, and the BMW was a very nice car back in the day. It sold for upwards of $30000 new, and had a powerful 189hp motor. They were fast, and pretty refined. And of course BMW's will handle pretty well too. They have been reliable enough as they are well built, and 1993's did not have all that many electronic gadgets.3 cars to choose from. Which is the best?
I would be wary of the repair bills on this thing. 14 yr old BMW parts are hard to come by, and expensive. Repairs and maintenance in general will be pricey. If you have maintenance records, and the car is in good shape inside and out, it may be worth it. So long as you are not spending every penny you have to get this. A rainy day fund of a few grand would not be a bad idea.

On the pro's side:It's a BMW, its cheap, its depreciated about all its going to, 5 years from now it will probably be worth $3500. assuming its still running.

It's a BMW, so it will break down. ALOT. Brand new BMW's break down a lot, and so a 14 yr old car with 100K will break down a lot more then the new ones. Expect to pay twice, maybe 3 times as much money to fix it as you would pay to fix a similar year Ford Taurus. BMW's are rich people's toys, because only rich people can afford to keep them running.
