I lost my pink slip to my car (california)?

I found the paperwork to order a new one, I was just wondering if anyone from california has needed to request one, and if so, how long did it take to recieve it? If I go to the DMV directly instead of mailing it in, will they be able to issue me one right there, or will they need to send it to Sacramento still? I am just trying to look for the fastest method, so I can sell my car. Thank you.

They will supply you with a temporary only. It will take 2 to 5 weeks for them to do the title and lien search to get you a new one.
