How do you adjust the gain on a car amp just right?

Do you turn it up to where it stops getting louder? I have mine at half way but if I turn it up higher it gets louder. If I go to far it sounds distorted.

You have to use a voltmeter to measure the voltage output from the spaeker terminals without the speaker hooked up. Sparky has a chart to set the right amount of gain so you don't blow the speaker.

turn the volume on yure head unut up to 75 % then adjust yure gain to where yu feel its loud enuff......usually halfway is plenty.
if yu notice distotion...turn it down....distortion,not power is what normally blows speakers.
