If the amp says it is 600 watts x 1 mono amp and it has 2 speaker inputs does that mean if I hook up to one input it will give 600 watts and if i hook up one speaker to each input they will each pull 300??

I'm pretty sure you mean "output", not "input". Many mono amps have dual speaker outputs to make it easier to hook up two speakers. The two terminals are connected together internally, so you can think of both connections as the exact same terminal. In other words, if you're hooking up two speakers, there's no difference between hooking them up to separate terminals and hooking them up to the same terminals at the amp.If you connect two identical speakers to a mono amplifier, the power will be split evenly between the two speakers, no matter how you connect them to the amp terminals.
For one, speaker is an output, so you have me lost there. If it has 2 speaker "outputs" I would say that it will power 2 speakers at 600 watts each, but it will be the same channel, like as in a sub.

Mono(1 channel) amps usually only have one output. But some have two(even though their bridged together internally anyway) outputs merely for ease of hooking up. If you have 2 4Ohm woofers, hook one up to each (internally bridged with 2 4Ohm woofers the amp would 'see' a 2Ohm load). Also you can simply hook both up to one output (it's internally bridged anyway) and it'll still 'see' a 2Ohm load.BTW, 600 watts ('peak', I'm assuming?) would be split b/t the 2 woofers.
