Question:
I had everything setup and working fine, then I stuck the deck in, put that dash back on, and now the deck and amp don't even turn on. All the connections I can see are intact, and I'm still getting power to the deck/amp.
What is better to run (amp question)?
I thinking it may be a problem with the ground, but honestly I have no idea.
Answers:
That happenned to me before and is 99% that your wiring may be shortcircuit somewhere thus causinf your car fuses to blow. Solution: if you put the deck back on and it stop working, it means that some wire made contact with the chasis or some metal on the dash. first of all check that all the wires are properly conected, insulated, (use elctrical black tape). then check for the fuses of your car, if noy check for the fuses of your radio, amp, and fuse power block(if used, but very higly recomended in order to prevent damage to your system. check you ground wires, make sure they are all conected to a clean surface of the car chasis, make sure no speaker wire is grounding somewhere.
How do I wire a 3 channel jensen amp in mono to push subs only?

make sure the ground is grounded to the car body not just something metelDo i match the wire gauge with the max or the rms on my amp.?
Don't ever use electrical tape in a car where extreme temp. changes and vibrations are of concern, now maybe in a house...Maybe when your snapped the dash back on, your cut into a wire with it, it does happen.
You're gonna' have to pull it back out and check all connections
