I have a Sony CD Car Radio CDX-L280 - how do I turn the beep off?

Every time I press a button it beeps and drives me insane. I have no user manual for it - my brother gave it to me and has lost the manual and can't remember how to turn the beep off. I've tried to download the manual from the Sony website with no joy. Anyone know how to stop the radio beeping? Cheers!

have you tryed having a fiddle in the menu or mode settings. i had the same sor of beep on my jvc unit.bought it from a friend who had lost the manual. just fiddle with it. sure youll find other stuff you didnt know you could do with it at the same time
