Question:
For example, if you have to subs that are 4 ohms and running on a mono amp that is 375 x 1 at 4 ohms, giving each sub half of 375 = 187.5. Well if the amp is at 750 x 1 with 2 ohms, then would you get the same watts with four 4 ohm subs because 750/4 = 187.5?
I'm calling you out, HardThinker?

So why would they basically be the same?

It depends on whether the subs are SVC 4ohms or DVC 4ohms/coil. In your example, if the first subs are SVC 4ohms then they would wire up to that amp at either 8ohm or 2ohm (not 4). At 8 ohm you wouldn't get any power, but at 2ohm you should get (normall) twice what the amp is rated at 4 ohms. So in reality those subs would get 375 a piece, now with 4 SVC 4ohm subs you can wire them at 4ohms or 1ohm, so your second amp would be giving them 375 (total for all 4) unless the amp was stable at 1ohm, then most likely you be getting 1500 total (375 per sub), but all this would change if you were inquiring about DVC 4ohm/coil subs. And also, whether or not you were using PEAK power ratings or RMS power ratings. How do I set the clock on my pioneer car stereo?

those diagrams show dual-voice coil subs. They can be wired multiple different ways. The amplifier will put out about twice the power at 2-ohms than it would at 4-ohms, but will run hotter.Check out the middle of this site:
