What kind of subs you use really Isn't dependant on the CD player. What you need is an external amplifier for your sub(s). If the total rms ratings of your subs combined equals, say, 500 watts rms, you'll need an amplifier that puts out about 500watts to 700 watts, rms,(@ the appropriate load -Ohms) to get full potential out of the subs.
Get one that is CEA compliant, you'll know it puts out what it says (cheaper brands exaggerate power rating drastically).
