I have a philips mp3 and am looking for a something that i can hook up to my car so i can play music in my car

You Could get some computer speakers (batt. powerered, of course) and use those!
But yes, you'll need some kind of radio to play it through.
You really don't need anything special, a factory radio will work. Get an FM modulator and you're set!
