How to connect my second amp up to my highs and do I need a crossover?

I recently just put two 12s in my car and have them hooked up to a amp. I want to hook my highs up to another amp how would I hook them up? Do I need a crossover? And why do I hear the engine coming out of my speakers a little bit?

Well I mounted a second amp just last week. to do that you need to connect the subs to the amp speakers output. Yes, you need a electronic crossover (3 way output recomended) to use the 2 outputs front and rear and 1lowpass output. This output is directly connected to your rear channel sub's amp. The front and rear output are connected to the front and rear channels of the amp you will use to the high frequency speakers. Also recomend a capacitor to supply the amount of power delivered to your amps.

If you are using component speakers, yes you will need a cross over. But if you are running co-axials, just plug them into the second amplifier, assuming you have both amps properly connected to the head unit.
