Question:
I recently just put two 12s in my car and have them hooked up to a amp. I want to hook my highs up to another amp how would I hook them up? Do I need a crossover? And why do I hear the engine coming out of my speakers a little bit?
Answers:
I have decided on the tc 3000 for a subwoofer what would be a good mono amp to push that subwoofer?
If you are using component speakers, yes you will need a cross over. But if you are running co-axials, just plug them into the second amplifier, assuming you have both amps properly connected to the head unit. You're hearing "engine whine." It is the result of a poor ground, or in the case of pioneer, a design flaw. If you have a pioneer I can show you how to fix that in no time, but if not, check your head unit ground.
What is the best audio/speaker/power wires?
If you get a crossover you can plug both amps into it, if you get one with multiple outputs. At that point use the high output with one amp and the lows with another. some even have a remote Knob for bass adjustment which is nice for when it isnt needed(like passing a cop). you could put the knob in your center counselMore Questions & Answers ...
