Car amp installation question?

Question:
Im installing an amp, I dont have a negative ground cable but do have an extra power (red) cable, can I use that cable as the negative (ground) for the amp?

of course you can the only difference is that one has a different color rubber insulator on it. they are both copper and will work fine.
