Yes it is possible, go to any car audio dealer (Circuit City, BestBuy, local dealer, even wal-mart) and they will have a dash kit that will allow you to put in any aftermarket radio (the radio will stick out just under 2in). You'll also want to get a harness to plug into your factory wiring that way you don't have to cut it up. No using wooden blocks, haha, that's funny. Cool that it worked though, goes to show you anything is possible. Oh, yeah and on that car you'll need an antenna adapter and possible an antenna extension as well. adaptor plates,etc.
Not real hard to replace if you know a good contortionist.
Most of the time you get a lot better sound & performance than
you do out of the factory unit.
They make adapters so the standard size din radio will fit. They look kinda cheap but they will do the job. You can find them in any car stero joint or places like wal-mart.
