What is better, 2 15" kicker l7's or 2 12" jl audio w7s?
The tunning of the crossover depends of your audio needs. If you want to hear the voice, treble, cymbals etc set the frequency of the channel to high freq. (those are the numbers wiht the unit KHz, Hz, MHz, etc. If you want strong bass, set the channel to low frequencies. any questions write me.HighPass (H/P) filters limit any freq. below that point going to small speakers. LowPass (L/P) filters limit any freq. above that point going to woofers.
Set H/P at about 80 to 100Hz for door speakers to eliminate distortion going to them due to bass 'moving' speaker too much resulting in distorted lyrics at high volumes.
Likewise for L/P, set it to 80 to 100Hz to limit treble going to woofers.
Everything depends on your specific vehicle, cd player, amps, and speakers and are what YOU want it to sound like. These are basic settings for most applications.
Good luck! Have fun!
