Do you all notice a difference between 2 ohm and 4 ohm sound?

So I used to have my subs on a 2 channel amp bridged and playing at 8 ohms. They sounded great and when I got a new amp it was a mono amp and now they are at 2 ohms. I can't tell a difference in the sound quality. It is deffinatley louder (more watts) and it runs a bit hotter.

I have a used koss car amfm cd mp3 error 1 comes up when i put in a cd can anyone tell me why thanks?

My question is, has anyone gone from a 4 ohm system to a 2 ohms system ON SUBS and noticed a major difference in SOUND QUALITY?

I've personally installed hundreds of subwoofer/amplifier combinations using a wide variety of wiring methods and amplifier types. I have never noticed a difference in sound quality when wiring for different impedances. As long as an amplifier is operating within its specifications, it won't produce enough distortion to be audible.

True the amp will run warmer but if it's designed for the load it should not shorten the life of the equipment.

At 2 ohms there is less resistance. So with a sub woofer, you may notice more bass in it (I do with mine). There is also a risk of blowing your sub or amp though, so be careful.

When amps are loaded @ 2Ohms vs. 4, the THD goes up a bit. So, yeah it adds distortion to lower the impedance.
Plus, the 2 amps you have-had aren't the same, so you can't compare any specs between the 2.
