I have a Dodge Dakota Quad Cab and my subwoofer space is at a minimal. I can only mount 4" deep with a 10" sub. I was thinking about not even using the space behind my seat but just using my whole back seat for the box. I was wondering if the Image Dynamics ID 12-D4 is a very good subwoofer and if it lived up to its name. Also i was wondering if the Power Acoustik STW-12 12" 1000W Shallow Subwoofer is very good. I want DEEP bass...

The image dyamics was once a really good brand. But over the years their quality has gone down a lot, The shop I purchase my equipment from used to carry image dyamics, but quit carrying their products due to too many defects. Power acoustik is nothing but off-brand garbage. Clairon makes a really nice 10" sub that handles up to 600 watts rms and has a 3" mounting depth, Click link below to see one. I have personally heard this sub, and I was really impressed with the nice bass repsonse and sound quality.What size amp will I need for one 12" subwoofer?
Go to wwwmtx.com. They offer a pre-loaded sub enclosure for your vehicle- 200 wrms powered one also. The ID 12-D4 are nice. You would need a 2Ohm stable mono or a 2 channel (1 for each voice coil) amp for it though. Don't do the Power Acoustic, it doesn't compare to the ID.More Questions & Answers ...
