What gauge wire kit do i need for a 4000watt amp?

2-channel 4000watts (2000 each channel)amp. Pushing two 10s-(they can hang)... What AWG is needed for optimal watts and clean sound at 4000watts?- 0awg or 2awg or 4awg?

400 watts on 2 10s??? I doubt it. Add the fuse ratings on the amp and then multiple by 6. That is closest actual wattage being produced by the amp. I will bet it is near 500 watts not 4000. 500 watts and the length is probably near 16 feet to the battery. You could get away with 8awg, but 4awg would be safer.

0, I don't think that the amp is telling you it's rms wattage. Rather it is giving you it's max. Look for the rms and find a wire calculator on the internet.

By the way, those legacy and pyramid amps are very over rated. They are rated at max power, which is not important at all. Find out what the actual rms rating is. If it is 1000 watts or greater, get 0 gauge. Anything less 4 gauge will work.
