why my lights are dimming everytime the bass goes off. I have a 1/2 fared capaciter, do i need a full cap? Any suggestions or professional knowhow would be greatly appreciated. I had my altinator checked out and was told its fine, so what i need to do is beyond me! Thanks in advance!

Why wont car radio remember presets?
You need an extra battery to power your speakers and for the amplifier to get enough power. The car battery is not enough and it is having a hard time getting enough power to send throught the speakers. So get an extra battery.first of all. have your batt checked. it might have a weak cell. if you run 4awg power wire and have a good gfround. you should not have a prob if you are running under a thousand watts. an extra batt is wayyy overkill! you really should step up to a 1 or 2 farad cap depending on how much power you have. atleast a 1 though.
Basically the alternator may not be able to deliver the extra current you need during the bass hits, or it just may not be able to adjust quickly enough for the sudden surge in current demand. You're seeing the results of the voltage dropping from the 14+ volts that the alternator normally puts out, down to the 12.6 volts where the battery begins to pick up the load.

A larger capacitor may help somewhat, or may not. Other things you can do: make sure your battery terminals are tight, clean, and free of corrosion, upgrade the wiring from your battery's negative terminal to the chassis of the vehicle, and have your battery tested to make sure it's not in need of replacement.
