Car amp/batteries for system?

Question:
ok, I am preparing to install two 18" DVC 1800watt subs and two Drive Gear 500watt 6x9 8-way speakers in my 1989 Lincoln Towncar, I am thinking of installing the subz in the trunk and the speakers in the driver/passanger door, any suggestions for better places? My real question is what kind of amp should I get, how many watts, should i get two? And how many channels should the Amp be.And, will I need to get an extra battery or two or five or will It be all good, if so what kinda voltage battery, links are very helpfull, thanks.

Uhhhh... lol. maybe you can buy one at the same place they sell laser guns and UFOs. Pick up a teleporter while you're at it, for me!

Music for my subwoofer?

thanks lol

My speakers rumble when i turn up the gain on my amp and when both rca's are plugged in?

you probably dont need an extra battery but a capacitor is a must so it doesn't drain your battery, there are a ton of amps that will work with that set up, and the places you put them are up to you but the the trunk for subs is the easiest

I have a 600watt subwoofer with 2 -'s&2 +'s on each side i guess its a 4channel,howdo i bridge it 2channel amp

wtf is a car amp? lol

How do I know what farad power capacitor should I get?

I'll help with the Alternator.

Pioneer GM-3300T or Profile HA700M Amplifier?

If you assume you 100% efficiency (This is OK for this application) this should work. power is P=IV

I have an aftermarket immobilizer abd i dont know code now i cant start my car hrn jus goes off what can i do?

(I) is current and (V) is voltage. You know voltage, I think is it 14 volts running. Measure it to be sure. You know P, add up the Ps.

Ok i have 2 pyle plsq12d 700 watt rms subs with a pyle 2400 watt chopper amp will it work?

P=14(I)

Solve for I;

Were to put subs, amp, and capactior in a car?

It is an equation so you have to do the same thing to both sides for it to stay equal. Divide both sides by 14.

Cd Player for my 1993 Lincoln town car?

This is what kind of alternator you need. I would get some capacitors and you will not need to design for peak and your voltage will not drop when the speakers pound hard. With the capacitors you can multiply the peak by 0.707 and it may be cheaper.

Auto how to with diagrams for specific car?

Remember the 0.707 is only for Alternator spec and not amplifier.

How do I wire my amp to run at 14.4v instead of 12.0v so I can get the max power out of it?

...one last thing, P is in Watts. But make sure you are using the watts or you will overbuild the Alternator.

Can you run two seperate cb radio antennas next to each other?

You will need to get a capacitor for the set up cause you will need it to help support the battery. You shouldn't need to change batteries but if you do I'd go with Optima's red or yellow top brands. You will probably have to put those 18s in the trunk but they should sound good in there. And the type of amp you need depends on the speaker specs...Are they 2 or 4 ohm? and is the 1800 peak or RMS power? From the info you have given, I'd say use 2-2000 watt amps (One for each sub) but you probably can use a 2000 watt (or bigger) 2 channel amp but they won't hit to the best of their ability since they are 1800 watt subs.

I need help with the sound system in my car?

Something to consider...this is an example...

Songs That Bump!?

To calculate the current draw of an amplifier, multiply the total RMS watts by 2 to account for amplifier inefficiency (We'll say 1000 watts X 2 = 2000 watts), then divide by the average output voltage of an alternator, 13.8 volts (2000 divided by 13.8 = 145 amps). Since the average music signal requires about 1/3rd of the average power in a test tone, divide by 3 (145 amps divided by 3 = 48 amps).

What do you rate Hifonics amps???

This is an average approximation of current draw and it can go higher. So I would gather between *48 and 72 amperes for this example.

Best system for my truck?

Calculate 40% of the amperes of the alternator you have now. This is the average current the car uses when running. Add this number to the approximate average current draw (*48), and you will come up with the mimimum average current required to power the audio system and vehicle. I would recommend going with the next highest rated alternator you can find or more accurately, multpily the final calculation by 1.3 for the alternator amperage required.
