Will my 4x50watts cd player power a 10" kicker comp sub?

Question:
I'm buying a kicker comp 10" in a box this weekend but I don't have the money to puchase the amp too. Will my Blaunkput Casablanca 4x50watts cd player power the sub good until I buy an amp? Also, any suggestions on a realatively cheap amp that complements this speaker? Thanks... Also it is not a cvr... It's just a kicker comp 10. I belive it's a 300watt sub.

It will move your 10, it will not sound good but if you just want to bump it for now your CD player will be ok. When you do trun it up loud the CD player will dim a littel that's all. If you just get a good name brand amp about 300 watts or so you sould be ok for one 10.

No not very well. It will not sound good at all. Trust me you need at least a 500 watt amp. Look around on Ebay you can find a good used one pretty cheap. Or try www.pricegrabber.com. Make sure it has at LEAST a 30 amp fuse built in.

Not recommended. Your 4 x 50 watt head unit is actually less than 20 watts per channel RMS. Also, it doesn't have a low-pass filter option to cut the high frequencies from the speaker outputs. If you do this, you will have to disconnect the rear speakers from the head unit; you cannot run the rear speakers and subwoofer at the same time without damaging the head unit.

IS350 alpine cd player?

While you're unlikely to damage anything if you do it right, it's unlikely that you'll get enough benefit from it to make it worth the trouble.

Yep, ur cd player is most likely 20RMS..the amount of watts that it can continually play cleanly. 50watts is the Maximum Watts..u usually dont reach your maximum watts anyways..since you can hear clipping. so 20x4..is 80RMS. you'll barely notice anything. But if you STILL continue with your plan, you better get a passive crossover. Because your stereo will be feeding your sub the same amount of frequencies that it would feed your speakers..which isn't "healthy" for your sub. You want your sub to only get LOW frequencies. A passover will filter out frequencies over (for example) 60hz and keep only the frequencies below 60hz.
