I was wondering if there was any car sterio amps. that could be hooked up to a home theater system? The reason why I'm askin' is cause I've been searchin' on the net for the past couple of weeks tryin' to find an amp made for a home theater system and all I've found wern't quit in the amp range I wanted. They were mostly around 200-300 watts range. I wanna get a car amp(s) cause I know that theres some that can kick out 600+ watts easy. I'm planning on hookin' up big speakers to my system and wanna get the most bang that I can out of 'em with usin' amps. Any help would be great.

Trying to use mobile audio in the home is more trouble than it's worth. They are designed for 12 V dc. trying to get power supplies in the range you need for the current required is very, very expensive.
You can get a 500wrms, 1000 watt peak plate amp from www.partsexpress.com for about $250. These amps can go down to 4Ohms, so using car speakers is no problem. Also, you can use a car battery charger to power car amps. I had an amp with 30 max amp rating hooked to a 6 max amp car battery charger. It shook the house and was louder than in the car (has to do with more air space). Just be careful with your connections if this is something you still insist on doing.
