Faceplate not working on new head-unit!!?

Question:
Ive just bought a brand-new head unit and when I connected it up the red light flashed to show that power was coming through (the red light under the faceplate). However, when I put the faceplate on it, it doesnt work? The cd player seems to make a noise as if its powered up but the faceplate gives no signs of working at all? Any ideas?

My pioneer head unit doesn't seem to pick up radio stations well...?

It might be defective, if you followed all installation procedures correctly. Just take it back.

Maybe u should bring it to a auto place and they can see what's wrong with your car faceplates alright don't worry i know alot about cars and stuff TRUST ME ABOUT IT
