How do I install 15'' speakers into my car?
With this vehicle you need to run your accessory power wire (red at the new radio) to a key-switched power source; there is none in the factory radio harness. I like to connect it directly to the brown wire at the key switch (with a 3-amp fuse on my wire) but you can also tap into a switched accessory fuse at the fuse box.Best way to control bass level of subwoofer.?
Hello... the problem that you are having is that you hooked the red wire up in the harness, but there is no switched power coming through that line. You will have to run a power wire from the fuse box in the drivers side panel on the side of the dash to the red wire in the retention harness and the red wire of the radio. There should be 3 wires in the connection. The relay for the impala that leaves the radio on until the door opens (like the factory one did) is the one closest to the firewall in the fuse box on the drivers side dash. When you pull the relay out, wrap a wire around the prong that is numbered 87 and that should fix your problem. If you dont feel comfortable messing with the relay, then just hook the wire to a fuse that turns on and off with the car. Also make sure that when you turn the car on that the airbag light flashes 7 times. If it doesnt then you will need to take the car to a GM dealership to reprogram the airbags. Problem solved!!!
