Question:
i have a JL Audio 500/1 amplifier mono class D 500 Watts RMS and 2 500 watt subs that are 250 rms. will this amp power both my subs with an equal 250 rms if i run it in parallel??
Answers:
What are the wiring codes for a 1997 Geo Metro?
Assuming your speakers are 4 ohm, YES you can connect them in parallel which will reduce the total impedance of your amps output to a 2 ohm load. This means that the subs will be receiving more than 250 w rms, since they max input power is 500 w rms it will work just fine. You might want to run them in series to get a higher impedance. I believe this will apply a lower wattage to the subs.
That setup is perfect. The JL Audio slash series amplifiers put out their RMS power at any impedance from 1.5-4 ohms. They are the only amplifier line on the planet that offer this feature. This amp will give you 250 watts RMS/woofer. If you have SVC 2 ohm woofers, run them series. If they're SVC 4 ohm woofers, run them in parallel. If they're DVC's, than run the coils in series and parallel them at the amp, regardless of the impedance/coil. I guarantee this is your best answer.
I wired up a cd player in car but got no sound?
SVC or DVC really doesn't matter. Just be sure the final impedance is between 1.5 and 4 ohms at the amp. DVC's have two voice coils per woofer. The only advantage to this is wiring flexibility. A dual 2 ohm woofer can be wired at either 1 or 4 ohms. If you have the right impedance woofers to begin with, than it doesn't make any difference. Not to mention, with JL's circuitry, you don't really need to worry about that anyways.
wire it any way and you will get 500wat out of that amplifier
