Ford 2006r rds car stereo code entry galaxy 2000 year?

Question:
hi all , I have a v reg ( 2000 ) ford galaxy , which has a ford 2006r rds stereo
I have the code but cant enter it into the stereo
I have no instruction book for the stereo
I have searched / googled for help and folowed soem suggestions that i found
the most common one is to use the preset number button to enter the number , i have tried that but cant get the display off the 4 lines ( it shows CODE - - - - )
any suggestions please

Can i choose i fuse of the next higher rating?

if the 4 lines are flashing enter the code in,eg if the code is 1234,press the keys at the bottom of the radio,so no.1 key keep pressing till no.1 is displayed then go on to the next no.but use the no.2 key keep going till you have the code on the display then press the no.5 key.(the keys are the numbers on the bottom of the radio.
